Then I added contents.  I alter abstract was the short version for the website. I added more content that suits for the report. Edit Chapter 1: Edit the Introduction, background, added motivation, objectives and Existing CNC mashine explanations. Prior the report contents were small and incomplete. I added more content checked the grammars and pass it to Rebecca Tafete for gramatical corrections, still she is working on it but I added all I wrote until the corrections completed.

Chapter 2: Edited all the contents, added Design concept CAD design requirements , functional test, system overview. Chapter3 altered proposed budget, alter and added contents on Environmental, health, Social and Sustainability aspects. Chapter 4 I wrote conclusion. Over all I spend more than 20 hrs working on the report.

I also worked on the website altering and correction contents.

Week 9 - 06/29 - 07/06

Ramon:
This week's main focus was to edit the success criteria table that would include the module, testing plan, and trial type based on the system-level engineering requirements. The table below shows in detail what should the system operation is capable of and its successful testing plan. The proposed budget table was also updated to allow us to verify and have a better understanding of the cost per component item needed for the project. Both tables shown above and below were updated on the website. Also for this week, the proposal design report is currently in the process and updated information.

Discussion about the proposed idea and editing of the website.

Week 4 - 06/01 - 06/07

Yohanes:

Added data and modify the website. Did depth resources on the proposal idea project for CNC machine and collect data that can be useful for the project. Gather some parts information to use on the CNC machine such as the TB6600 stepper motor drive for Arduino to use instead of a connection motor driver to a breadboard. The TB6600 is well-suitable and can control a two-phase stepping motor.

On our fourth meeting Professor Notash gave us feedback about our website and to adjust some setting content as well as the navigation menu information tab for what it needs to be to match the requirement website rubric guidelines.  We narrow down the ideas projects to two projects which are the CNC machine and the Shoe Sorting System.

Week 2 - 05/18 - 05/24

Yohanes:

Created a budget table for project ideas proposed and added content to the website. Worked on the block diagram and flowchart for the ideas projects. I have very well knowledge and background when it comes to being a handyperson/crafty such as completing model tasks that require building from scratch using wood, plastic hardware, fabric, rubber,  and many objects models.

Ramon:

Modified website setup to make it look more friendly and viewable such as weekly presentation, time and effort section, and font adjustments. Created block diagram/flowchart of projects idea. Started getting familiar with 3D rendering software to create models and components simulations. As a hobby in my free time, I like to be open source and get familiar with many software such as 3D modeling, and coding in Python, C++, and JavaScript. I'm still a novice but I'm interested in learning more about technology concentration.

Group:
Third week the six proposal idea narrowed to three project ideas, which were the CNC machine, Sorting "Shoes" Conveyor System, and the waiter bot. Professor gave us some very important feedback about our website design to make it more friendly and viewable. We also discussed that the main concentration for the design project that it needs to be at least 60% electronic project ideas proposals, more depth details, functionality, cost budget, and the targeted audience.

Week 1 - 05/11 - 05/17

Group:

In our second meeting, we discussed our progress status. We pre-proposed some ideas we had gathered and were recommended regarding some ideas we had that were designed by previous students, we were recommended perhaps modifying some projects and/or making better proposals idea concepts.

Yohanes and I spend counters of hours collecting the brainstormed ideas and narrowing projects. We discussed projects that can impact and have a great outcome in the market and help to be more productive daily.  At this point, we came to a brief conclusion idea that goes like such:

  • CNC handy machine - performs multiple machine tasks, including lathes, grinders, routers, and mills.

  • Fingerprint security system  - the project is to provide a secure access control mechanism using biometric authentication.

  • Medical cooling systems - especially in the emergency room, replace the ice pack cooling system. The automated decomposer -  aims to create a system that automates the process of decomposition for organic materials in a controlled environment.

  • An automated robot - waiter bot in a restaurant or a similar setting. The robot is designed to navigate to designated tables, interact with customers, and return to its starting point.

  • Sorting Conveyor System - the system requires specific criteria for sorting objects. For example, it could be by color, size, shape, or sex characteristics.

  • Shoe sorting system  - project aims to automate the process of collecting shoes.

  • Mitad Grill - Injera is a pancake-like flatbread with a slightly spongy texture, Ethiopia and Eritrea's main food.

Ramon:

Continued working on website setup contents.

Yohanes:

Collected data to add to website.

Early Class Week -

Yohanes:
Brainstorm more ideas and collect information. Ramon and I had been communicating and devised many ideas to propose to Professor Notash. Conducted and gathered parts and components for the ideas discussed.

Ramon:

After the Zoom meeting with Professor Notash, I gather some information and did the resource to create the website for the design project on the Wix website. The Wix website is used by many design project students and was recommended as it is an ease of use and free operations system. I started with the main website setup and then used the Rubic guideline from Valencia College requirements.

Group:

The first meeting with Professor, In the Zoom meeting, we discussed the syllabus and information we needed to design the project. Professor Notash demonstrates some projects and website designs from previous semesters and what to expect as a group to collaborate to complete the design project. He also gave us some feedback on what project is recommended and some criteria to follow to have a better understanding of what is the Senior design project is expected for this semester.

Prior class begins.
Group:

Ramon and I have known for a while at Valencia College. During the Winter of 2023, we started discussing the senior design proposal project. Then we asked each other what of us if we had similar interests and different contributions to the project. Indeed, we found we have similar interests and goals with diverse backgrounds and experiences. Then, we decided to team up and work together. Since then, we discussed many possible projects.
